SafetyNow was initiated in 2017 when Nicky became a part time lecturer in Health and Safety Management, appointed by Andre, and the need to operationally prepare students for a business environment.  Although Nicky was a permanent employee at two (2) higher education institutions for 27 years, she implemented health and safety management systems to safeguard workers, students, contractors and visitors.

Nicky and Andre had the idea for many years to develop the concept of a professional Occupational Health and Safety e'Learning (online) platform, specifically business risk related.

The passion to improve health and safety in the workplace and the sharing of knowledge, skills and experience, led to the teaching of the unfamiliar in health and safety aspects, such as:

• Public Road Traffic Safety, 

• Chemical and Laboratory Safety, 

• Fire Safety, 

• Contractor Safety, 

• Event Safety, 

• Factory Safety, which might be a high risk due to the machinery used

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to fit the purpose, 

• Reporting of Injury on Duty Incidents, 

• Residential Safety, and 

• Food safety

Only to mention a few examples and to maintain a safety management system that comply with ISO45001.
